Software Development Manager (JS, AWS, Node.js) - London
£75 to £90k basic + bonus + benefits
My client, a strategy focused technology consultancy are looking for a Software Development Manager with solid agile experience. You will be responsible for the quality of the product, from code architecture to end-user quality. You will spend an average of 50% of your time billed to a project as a senior development resource and the other 50% growing, leading, mentoring and managing teams.

Line management of all Developers, QA and DevOps (circa 8 staff)
Team 1-to-1s at regular intervals
Increasing and maintaining the quality of work from the development team
Ensuring all projects meet certain quality criteria such as code coverage, minimising technical debt, etc.
Providing architectural input on projects
Attending client-facing meetings, representing technical delivery
To spend an average of 50% of their time billed to a project as a senior development resource. Depending on applicant this may be, Tech lead, Development input, Architectural input or all three mentioned.
AWS experience – few years and familiar with most of the components
Hands on JS experience
Solid experience with Node.js – build multiple API projects, etc.
Good architectural experience
Experience integrating with various 3rd party components
Thorough understanding of Code Quality: Testing, Mocking, TDD, SOLID principles, etc.
Experience leading teams, guiding other developers, etc.
Solid agile experience including working with, and appreciation of the other roles within an agile team – BA, QA, etc.
Experience working directly with stakeholders
Good front-end experience – HTML, CSS including major frameworks React, Angular
